Full biography
Matheus Carvalho Granjeiro, a multi-instrumentalist, artist, songwriter, and producer from Brasília, Brazil, whose music is rooted primarily in country, folk, rock, and blues. In 2017, he moved to Los Angeles, California, to study songwriting and music production at Musicians Institute. He lived in Los Angeles for eight years and spent two years in Nashville, Tennessee.
Matheus Carvalho Granjeiro is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, music producer, and multi-instrumentalist. A graduate of Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Composition and Music Production, he has built his career between Brazil and the United States, combining academic training, studio experience, and a deeply personal connection to music.
His work primarily blends country, rock, folk, and blues, combining distinctive guitar work, organic arrangements, and honest lyrics about love, personal growth, loss, inner conflict, and the experiences that leave a lasting mark on our lives. For Matheus, every song must carry a sense of truth, whether through direct storytelling, a melancholic melody, or the raw energy of a real band playing together.
With his debut album, "Heart Of Gold", Matheus laid the foundation for his identity as an artist and songwriter. His second album, "Melancholic", represents both an artistic and personal evolution: a more mature and intense body of work, produced primarily by Matheus himself.
In addition to writing the songs and handling most of the album’s production, Matheus recorded all the electric and acoustic guitars, as well as every bass part, reinforcing his creative independence and meticulous attention to every detail. He also wrote and developed arrangements for other instruments, guiding musicians he trusts completely to achieve the best possible results.
"Melancholic" was recorded primarily by Brazilian musicians, something Matheus takes immense pride in, particularly because the album draws inspiration from traditionally American genres. The project demonstrates that Brazilian musicians can interpret these styles with identity, excellence, and authenticity.
After living and working in the United States for a decade, Matheus returned to Brazil with a clearer vision of the path he wants to pursue. Alongside continuing to release his own music, he has increasingly focused his career on music production and songwriting for other artists, using his experience and sensitivity to serve new voices and stories.
Rather than following trends, Matheus believes in music as a genuinely human form of expression. His work is born from real instruments, experiences, imperfections, and emotions, elements that transform each song into an honest reflection of who he was at the time he wrote it.
